ARK cross-server gateway travel using multiple servers in a cluster

Note: for servers purchased before 16/09/2016 (16th September 2016) please send in a support ticket to enable cluster server support across your servers

You can use the gateway in two ways, using command lines on one server, and by using two or more separate servers connected to the same cluster. In this article we will explain how to connect servers to a cluster so that the servers can use the gateway cross-travel feature.

First, you’re going to want to head over to the control panel and go into one of your ARK services – for this to work you will need to have two or more ARK servers with us.

Once on the service, you will need to go into the custom command line section. This is where we will be configuring the server to run on a cluster, click the new button or edit an existing command line then in the clusterid box enter a value that’s unique to your server such as random numbers, something no one else will think off. Then tick the box on the right and left of the no transfer from filtering option – required for the gateway to run.

Then just save that command line, feel free to check any other options you want to use, and make sure to click the select button on the right to activate the command line.

That’s it! This server is now set up to use the gateway on that cluster ID. Now just repeat the same process for other servers you want to be part of the cluster.

For example, to run a ScorchedEarth server and a TheCenter server connected through the gateway just do the steps above on each server, then change the value in the map box to ScorchedEarth_P or TheCenter.

We recommend keeping things such as the max player level, and the max after-tame dino level the same on all servers in the cluster or you may run into stat reset dino’s and player profiles that cannot be downloaded. All the mods, configuration file and command line settings are different for each server in the cluster please keep this in mind when setting up the servers.
