ARK cross-map gateway travel using one server

You can keep saves for several ARK maps on one server and switch between them. Each map needs its own command line and save directory. Only the selected map runs, so players will have to wait while you stop the server and load the next one.

If you want several maps online together, use ARK cross-server gateway travel using multiple servers in a cluster.

Take a backup before changing command lines. Give every map a different save directory so its data stays separate. For Workshop maps, you will also need to install the map's files.

Set up your first map

1. Open your ARK server in the control panel and click Commandline Manager.

   

2. Create a custom command line, or edit the one you already use.
3. Tick the box beside Map and enter its command-line value. For The Island, use TheIsland.
4. Tick the save directory option and enter a directory name for this map.
5. Enable the transfer options needed for gateway travel, including No Transfer From Filtering.
6. Choose a unique Cluster ID. Copy this same ID into each map command line you create for this server.
7. Save the command line and click Select to use it on the next start.

Add another map

Create another custom command line with the same Cluster ID and transfer settings. Change the map value and give it a separate save directory, then save it. Repeat for any other maps you want to keep.

Switch to another map

1. Ask players to upload at an obelisk, terminal or transmitter before the switch.
2. Stop the server.
3. Open Commandline Manager and select the command line for the destination map.
4. Start the server and join to check that the expected map has loaded.

If a map starts fresh when you expected an existing save, stop the server and check its save directory before continuing. Make sure you selected the command line you intended to use.

Map values
