How to make a Euro Truck Simulator 2 server private or friends-only

You can hide a Convoy session from the public server browser, restrict it to Steam friends or protect it with a password. These controls are in server_config.sii.

1. Stop the server and open Configuration Files.
2. Click Text Editor beside server_config.sii.
3. Set show_server to false to hide the session from the public list, or leave it true for a public session.
4. Set friends_only to true if only the host’s Steam friends should be able to join.
5. Add a value to password when you also want a join password.

   

6. Click Save & Exit and start the server.

Hidden sessions can still be joined using their search ID. Keep show_server enabled if you only want password protection.
