How to run ARK Aquatica DLC on your server

ARK: Aquatica is an ARK: Survival Evolved expansion map. To run it on your server, set the server map name to Aquatica in your ARK custom command line, then start the server with that command line selected.

Before switching map

• Back up the server before changing maps.
• Tell players before taking the server offline.
• Make sure players own or can access the Aquatica DLC where required.

Map value

Use this map value in the control panel map field or equivalent custom command line map field:

Aquatica

If you manage a raw ARK launch command outside the panel, the map name is the first map argument before the normal option string. In the LogicServers control panel, use the custom command line editor instead of manually editing a full launch command.

Set the Aquatica map

1. Log in to your game control panel and open the ARK server.
2. Stop the server.
3. Open the custom command line area.
4. Create a new command line or edit the one you want to use.
5. Set the map field to Aquatica.
6. Save the command line.
7. Select the command line on the right-hand side.
8. Start the server.

After switching

• Run Steam Update if the server build is older than the Aquatica release build.
• Join with an updated ARK: Survival Evolved client.
• Keep the previous map backup until you are sure the new map is working as expected.

Troubleshooting

• If the old map starts, confirm the Aquatica command line is selected, not just saved.
• If the server does not start, run Steam Update and check the console output.
• If clients cannot join, confirm their ARK install is updated and has access to the required DLC.
• If you want to return to the old map, stop the server, select the previous command line, and restore the relevant backup if needed.
