How to change DayZ server name, password, map, and basic settings

DayZ server name, password, admin password, map, perspective options, time acceleration, and MOTD are managed in serverDZ.cfg. Use the Config Editor for normal changes, then restart the server.

  1. Open your DayZ server in the control panel.
  2. Click Configuration Files.
  3. Open serverDZ.cfg with Config Editor.

  4. Change Server Name, Server Password, or Admin password as needed.

  5. Use the Map dropdown when changing between supported missions such as Chernarus, Livonia, or other installed maps.

  6. Set time, night acceleration, and MOTD values if needed.

  7. Click Save & Exit, then restart the server.
