These "How to set a player as OP on your Minecraft Server" steps are for Multicraft services. Newer Minecraft servers use a different panel, and the up-to-date guide is: How to OP or de-op a player on your Minecraft server.
Making a player OP gives them access to Minecraft's operator commands, so only give it to someone you trust to manage the server. You can do this from the Multicraft Console even if you aren't an operator in-game.
- Log in to Multicraft and select your Minecraft server.
- Open Console.
- Enter
op PlayerName, replacingPlayerNamewith the player's Minecraft username, not their Discord name or nickname. For a player called Steve, you'd enter:op Steve - Press Enter or click Send.
If you are already an operator, you can also run /op Steve in the in-game chat. The slash is needed in chat; leave it off when using the panel console.
Remove operator access
To remove OP, enter deop PlayerName in the console. For Steve, this would be deop Steve. In-game, an operator can use /deop Steve.
