How to change the RCON password on your Insurgency server

RCON allows remote administration and must use a private password that is different from the join password.

  1. Stop the server and edit server.cfg from Configuration Files.
  2. Replace the value on the rcon_password line.
  3. Save and start the server, then update the saved credentials in your RCON client.
rcon_password "Use-A-Long-Unique-Password"

Do not publish this value or include it in screenshots. If the RCON client cannot connect, confirm it is using the server's assigned address and RCON port rather than its FTP port.
