How to change your Hurtworld server name and save interval

The server name and automatic world-save interval are stored in autoexec.cfg. The interval is measured in seconds.

  1. Open your service, take a backup and stop the server.
  2. Click Configuration Files, then open the autoexec.cfg Text Editor.
  3. Change the text after servername to the name players should see.
  4. Set autobackupinterval to the required number of seconds. For example, 600 saves every ten minutes:
autobackupinterval 600
servername My Hurtworld Server

  1. Click Save & Exit, start the server and allow a few minutes for the new name to appear.

Keep each setting on one line and do not change the assigned host or query ports. A shorter save interval creates more disk activity; ten to fifteen minutes is a sensible starting point for most servers.
