How to add mods to your Hurtworld server

Hurtworld Steam Workshop mods are loaded by adding one or more loadmod lines to autoexec.cfg. Each mod uses a numeric Steam Workshop ID from the mod page URL.

Find the Workshop ID

  1. Open the mod's Steam Workshop page.
  2. Look at the end of the URL for the numeric id value.
  3. Copy only the number. For example, in https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=704019543, the Workshop ID is 704019543.

Add the mod to autoexec.cfg

  1. Log in to your game control panel and open the Hurtworld server.
  2. Stop the server.
  3. Open Configuration Files.
  4. Open autoexec.cfg with the text editor.
  5. Add the mod before the main host/start command where possible:
loadmod 704019543

To load multiple Workshop mods, add the IDs in the required load order. If a mod author says their mod must load first, place that mod first.

loadmod 704019543
loadmod 714026119
  1. Save autoexec.cfg.
  2. Start the server.
  3. Check the console or log viewer for mod loading errors.

Troubleshooting

  • If the mod does not load, confirm the Workshop ID is only numbers and matches the Steam Workshop URL.
  • If multiple mods conflict, test with one mod first, then add the others back one at a time.
  • If a mod requires uMod/Oxide or another dependency, install that dependency before loading the mod.
  • If the server fails to start after adding a mod, remove the last mod you added and restart the server.

Reference

The official Hurtworld modding documentation describes using loadmod <workshopID> in autoexec.cfg.
