How to add or remove a password on your Vintage Story server

You can protect a Vintage Story server with a join password from the control-panel console. Vintage Story passwords set this way cannot contain spaces.

1. Open your Vintage Story server in the control panel and make sure it is running.
2. Open the Console tab.
3. Enter /serverconfig password YourPassword, replacing YourPassword with the password you want to use.
4. Ask another player to reconnect using the new password to confirm it works. Our Vintage Story connection guide shows where to find the server address.

To remove the join password later, enter /serverconfig nopassword in the console. Do not put a real server password in a support ticket or public message.
