The Forest uses an admin password rather than a list of player IDs. Anyone who knows this password can authenticate as an administrator, so keep it different from the normal join password.
- Stop the server and open Configuration Files.
- Edit
server.cfgand setserverPasswordAdminto a strong password:
serverPasswordAdmin ExampleAdminPassword
- Save the file, start the server and join it.
- Enter the admin password in the admin-password field when joining.
- Open multiplayer chat with Enter and use
/helpas a harmless permission check.
Useful commands include /save 1 through /save 5, /kick STEAMID, /ban STEAMID and /shutdown. Avoid /restart unless you intend to reset save data; the game documents that command as destructive.
