How to back up your The Forest server

Back up before changing save slots, creating a new world, installing ModAPI or applying a large settings change.

  1. Open The Forest service and stop the server.
  2. Click Backup Server.

    The Forest Backup Server button

  3. Confirm the action and wait for the task to finish before restarting.

The completed timestamped ZIP is available to the Restore Backup action. Check the task result before wiping a world or changing slots; a failed or incomplete archive is not a restore point.
