Here’s how you can make sure you never lose a piece of your adventure, even if something unexpected happens.
Automatic Backups: Set and Forget
We make backups simple. Every day, our system automatically saves a copy of your Smalland server. This means all your creations, progress, and adventures are kept safe without you needing to do anything. Want to save your backups more or less often? No problem! You can adjust the schedule anytime in the scheduled tasks tab of the control panel, but remember, you can only keep 10 backups at any given time.
How to create a manual backup of your server:

Head to Your Control Panel
- Just log in and pick the Smalland server you want to create a backup for.

Stop Your Server (Optional)
- It’s a good idea to stop your server first to make sure everything gets saved correctly. But don't worry, it’s not a must.

Create the backup
- You’ll see a Backup Server button on your control panel. Click it, and you’re all set!
- Note, on our new control panel this button is on the side bar.
Our system will pack up all your server’s save files and keep them safe in our backup spot. If you’ve chosen our extra remote backup service, we’ll keep your backups in two places, just to be extra safe. Once the backup's done, if you stopped your server, hit start to get back into the game.
Why Backups Matter
Backups are your safety net. They let you try new things, add mods, or update your game without worrying. If something doesn’t go as planned, you can always go back to how things were and start again. It’s all about making sure you can keep exploring and building in Smalland without losing a step.
