You can join an ATLAS server from the in-game server browser after the server is named and fully started. The server may take a few minutes to appear after a restart.
Before joining
- Log in to the control panel and check that the ATLAS server is running.
- Set a recognisable server name if you have not already done so.
- Wait a few minutes after startup before searching in game.
- Make sure your ATLAS client is updated to the same live branch as the server.
Join from the ATLAS server browser
- Start ATLAS from Steam.
- Open the join/server browser flow.
- Set the session filter to Unofficial.
- Search for your server name.
- Select the server when it appears.
- Choose a spawn region if prompted.
- Click Join.
Join using the server address
If the server browser does not show the server, use the connection address shown in your control panel. Depending on the current ATLAS/Steam client behaviour, you may be able to add the server to Steam favourites or use a direct connect option with the address and port shown for your service.
- Open the ATLAS service in the control panel.
- Copy the server address, game port, or query port shown on the service page.
- Add the server to Steam favourites or use the direct-connect option available in your client.
- Start ATLAS and join from favourites or recent servers if it appears there.
Passworded servers
If your server has a join password, enter it exactly as saved in the control panel. Passwords are case-sensitive. If you recently changed the password, restart the server before testing.
Troubleshooting
- If the server does not appear, check the spelling of the server name and clear any extra filters.
- If the server has just restarted, wait a few minutes and search again.
- If the server appears but connection fails, check for a password mismatch, version mismatch, or a server still finishing startup.
- If favourites/direct connect does not work, confirm you used the address and port from the control panel rather than an old copied value.
- If players still cannot find or join the server, submit a support ticket and include the server name, the address you tried, and the approximate time you searched.
