How to change settings in Medieval Engineers

Medieval Engineers world settings are stored in the world save files. Edit them carefully while the server is stopped, then restart the server so the world loads the changed values.

Before editing world settings

  • Stop the server before editing save files.
  • Take a backup of the world first.
  • Only change settings you understand. A broken save file can stop the world from loading.

Edit sandbox.sbc

  1. Log in to your game control panel and open the Medieval Engineers server.
  2. Open File Manager.
  3. Go to the server saves folder.
  4. Open the world folder you want to edit.
  5. Edit sandbox.sbc.
  6. Change the required setting values.
  7. Save the file.
  8. Start the server and check that the world loads correctly.

Troubleshooting

  • If the world does not load, restore the backup and repeat the edit more carefully.
  • If your change does not apply, confirm you edited the active world folder.
  • If you are unsure which setting controls the behaviour you want, submit a support ticket before changing several values at once.
