Valheim crossplay is controlled from the server.bat settings. Enable it when players from supported Microsoft Store, Xbox, or crossplay-compatible clients need to join the same dedicated server.
- Open your Valheim server in the control panel.
- Click Configuration Files.
- Open
server.batwith Config Editor. - Tick Enable Crossplay?.
- Click Save & Exit.
- Restart the server.
If crossplay players still cannot join, confirm they are using the current game version and the correct server password.
Before changing settings
Create a backup before changing world, map, security, or gameplay settings on an active Valheim server. Some settings only apply after a restart, and some only affect newly generated worlds.
Verify the change
After saving, restart the server and check the console for errors. Join the server or ask a player to test the changed behaviour before making further edits.
