To update the description shown for your Rising World server, you’ll need to modify the server settings from your panel. This is useful if you want to add a custom message players will see when browsing for servers.
Step 1: Stop the server
Before making changes, click the Stop button in your panel to shut down the server.
Step 2: Open server.properties
From the left-hand menu, click Configuration Files and then select Text Editor next to server.properties.
Step 3: Update the server description
Look for the Server_Description line and replace the existing text with your desired server description. This will be shown in the in-game server list.
Step 4: Save your changes
Click Save at the top or bottom of the editor. This will apply the new server description.
Step 5: Start the server
Once saved, click Start to bring the server back online with your updated settings.
Before updating
Create a backup first if the server has active progress, custom configuration, or mods. Tell players before restarting so nobody is disconnected during the update.
After updating
Start the server, check the console for startup errors, and join with an updated client. If the server uses mods, confirm the mods support the new game version before assuming the update failed.
