As standard all Rising World Servers have a default scheduled task to back them up every night, but we suggest making a manual backup if you're going to make changes or want a solid restore point.
Step 1: Stop your server
From your game panel, click the Stop button to shut down your server before initiating the backup.
Step 2: Click Backup Server
On the left side menu, click Backup Server to begin the backup process.
Step 3: Wait for the backup to finish
The panel will notify you once the backup is complete. After that, you can safely restart your server.
Before you continue
Wait for the backup task to finish before making changes. If the backup was taken before a risky edit, keep a note of the time so you can identify the correct restore point later.
If the backup fails
Refresh the control panel and check whether another task is already running. If it fails again, stop before changing files and submit a support ticket with your server name and the backup error shown in the panel.
Backup checklist
- Open the correct server in the control panel before starting the backup.
- Avoid restarting or editing files while the backup task is running.
- Wait for the backup to show as completed before using it as a restore point.
If the backup is being created before a settings change or file edit, keep a note of why you created it. That makes it easier to choose the right restore point later if you need to roll the server back.
