Valheim stores manual ban entries in bannedlist.txt, and server admins can also ban or unban players from the in-game console. Use the Config Editor when you need to add, review, or remove ban entries from the panel.

  1. Open your Valheim server in the control panel.
  2. Click Configuration Files.
  3. Open bannedlist.txt with Config Editor.

  4. Click [ Add Banned Player ].
  5. Enter the player SteamID64 in the SteamID64 field.

  6. Use [ Delete ] next to a row to remove a ban.
  7. Click Save & Exit, then restart the server.
  8. In-game admins can also use ban, unban, and banned from the Valheim console.

Check the player identifier

Use the exact identifier the game expects, such as a username, SteamID64, UUID, or player ID. Copy it carefully, because one wrong digit or character can apply the change to the wrong player or stop it working.

After making the change

Restart the server if the game requires it, then test with the affected player. If the change does not apply, check the console or log output for permission or formatting errors.
