Restoring an Astroneer backup replaces the current server files with an earlier copy. Any save progress or configuration changes made after that backup can be lost.
- Open your Astroneer server in the control panel and stop it.
- Create a new backup first if the current state contains anything you may need later.
- Click Restore Backup.
- Select the backup by its timestamp, tick Are you sure? and click Execute.
- Wait for the restore task to finish before starting the server.
- Join and confirm that the expected save has loaded.
If the wrong restore point was selected, stop the server before trying another backup. Repeatedly starting between restores can create extra changes that make recovery harder to follow.
