How to update your Arma 3 server

Use Steam Update when Arma 3 releases a dedicated server update or when your game client reports a version mismatch. Take a backup first if you have custom missions, mod files, or edited configuration files.

1. Open your Arma 3 server in the control panel.
2. Click Backup Server and wait for the backup to finish.
3. Click Steam Update.

   

4. Wait for the update task to complete.
5. Start or restart the server.
6. Check Web Console if the server does not start.

If you use Workshop mods or Creator DLC files, update those separately when needed. Steam Update refreshes the base dedicated server files; it does not guarantee every custom mod file is current.

Before updating

Create a backup first if the server has active progress, custom configuration, or mods. Tell players before restarting so nobody is disconnected during the update.

After updating

Start the server, check the console for startup errors, and join with an updated client. If the server uses mods, confirm the mods support the new game version before assuming the update failed.
