The Rust compiler-in-use error usually means an update, plugin compile, or file operation is still running or has become stuck. Avoid repeatedly starting the same task while the compiler is busy.

  1. Wait a few minutes, then try the action again.
  2. Open Web Console and check whether plugins are still compiling.
  3. Restart the server if the process appears stuck.
  4. Run Steam Update again after the restart.
  5. If the error keeps returning, stop the server and submit a support ticket with the latest Web Console output.

Do not repeatedly start update jobs while one is already running.
