Update Valheim Plus after Valheim updates, when the mod author releases a new build, or when players cannot join because the modded server files are outdated.
- Open your Valheim server in the control panel.
- Click Backup Server.
- Click Mod Manager.
- Find the installed Valheim Plus entry.
- Use the available update, reinstall, or install action shown by the panel.
- Restart the server and check the logs.
If Steam Update was run after installing a modded branch, you may need to reinstall Valheim Plus so the modded files are applied again.
Before updating
Create a backup first if the server has active progress, custom configuration, or mods. Tell players before restarting so nobody is disconnected during the update.
After updating
Start the server, check the console for startup errors, and join with an updated client. If the server uses mods, confirm the mods support the new game version before assuming the update failed.
