tModLoader can be installed from the Terraria server Mod Manager in the control panel. Take a backup first, especially if the server already has worlds, configs, or uploaded mods.
Install tModLoader
- Log in to your control panel and open the Terraria server.
- Click Backup or Backup Server and wait for the backup to finish.
- Stop the Terraria server.
- Open Mod Manager.
- Find tModLoader and click Install.
- Wait for the install task to finish.
- Start the server again.
After installing
Join the server and check that it starts with tModLoader enabled. If Terraria or tModLoader updates later, return to Mod Manager and reinstall/update tModLoader so the versions stay compatible.
If the server fails to start after installing mods, remove the last mod you added or restore from backup.
After making the change
Restart the server where required and test the result before making further changes. Change one thing at a time so it is clear which setting caused any new problem.
