How to add a password to your Space Engineers server

To get a password set for your Space Engineers server, please submit a ticket containing the password you’d like and we will set it for you.

 

Manual Method:

 

  1. First, download the Space Engineers Dedicated server tool from Steam.
  2. Open it, and select ‘Run as Admin’ if it comes up.
  3. Select local/console and then select ‘Continue to server configuration’.
  4. In the ‘password’ field enter what you’d like as your password, and be sure to save the changes you’ve made.
  5. Select ‘Edit’ and a notepad file should open, find the following lines:

<ServerPasswordHash>z5dXWHuN6eheu9x+Hf8yEyUG71U=</ServerPasswordHash>

  <ServerPasswordSalt>/NEiQKDQVNvBEnp27Izvjw==</ServerPasswordSalt>

  1. Paste these values into the configuration file.
