To upload a world to your Valheim server, you must do the following:
Part One – Uploading your save to the server
- Locate the world on your PC, this will be inside your Windows users AppData folder.
- The path to this folder is the following:
“C:\Users\YOUR WINDOWS USERNAME\AppData\LocalLow\IronGate\Valheim\worlds”
- Note that the AppData folder is hidden, if you click the bar on Windows Explorer you can type in the folder then hit enter to get to it
- The path to this folder is the following:
- Locate the .db (Database File) and the .fwl file for the world you want to load, you do not need the .old files
- On the control panel, go to the server that you want to upload the world to
- Stop the server, this will ensure no save files you upload get overwritten
- Go to the file manager then click into the saves folder followed by the worlds folder
- If the worlds folder does not exist, you can create it by clicking Create Folder then setting the name of the folder to worlds
- Starting your server will create this folder too
- Click the Upload button then select the two files you found before, followed by Upload
Part Two – Setting the Valheim server to load the save you uploaded
- On the control panel for the server you uploaded the world on, click Configuration Files.
- You will see a file called server.bat, on the right of this file click Configuration Editor
- In the World field enter the name of the world you uploaded in part one
- You do not need to enter the .db or .fwl extension into this box
- Click save then start your server, the world you uploaded will now load and be playable
