Use Steam Update when Return to Moria releases a server update or when your game client says the server is out of date. Stop the server first so files can be replaced cleanly.

Update the server

  1. Log in to the game control panel and open the Return to Moria server.
  2. Stop the server.
  3. Click Steam Update from the panel options.

  4. Wait for the update to finish.

  5. Start the server again.

If the server is still out of date

Stop the server and run Steam Update once more. If it still will not update, submit a support ticket with the update log or screenshot from the panel.

After updating

Start the server and check that it reaches a joinable state before changing anything else. If the game uses mods or plugins, confirm those also load successfully after the update.

If the server does not start

Review the latest console or log output and undo the most recent mod, plugin, or config change first. If the update itself appears to be the issue, include the newest log lines when opening a support ticket.
