Most Vintage Story servers do not need a database by default, but some mods or external tools may ask for one.

  1. Open your Vintage Story server in the control panel.
  2. Click the Databases tab.
  3. Click New Database.
  4. Create the database, then use the generated endpoint, username, and password details in the mod or tool that asked for database access.

If you are not sure whether a mod needs a database, check the mod instructions first. Adding a database when it is not needed will not make the server run faster.
