Changing your Terraria server to Master Difficulty

Method 1:

  1. Login to your control panel.
  2. Enter your configuration editor, click text editor next to serverconfig.txt
  3. Find the 'difficulty' line and change the value to 2
  4. Save and apply.
  5. Restart your server.

 

 

 

Method 2:

  1. Login to your control panel.
  2. Enter your configuration editor, click configuration editor next to serverconfig.txt
  3. Ensure the auto create check box is checked
  4. Change the difficulty dropdown to Master
  5. Save and apply.
  6. Restart your server.

 

 

Note: You will need to generate a new world for this to work, for help on how to generate one click here.

 

 

Work Around (before they patched it):

  1. Login to your control panel.
  2. Click onto the actions tab and click Download Master World
  3. Enter your configuration editor by clicking configuration editor next to serverconfig.txt
  4. Ensure the auto create checkbox is not checked
  5. Set the world name to MasterWorld
  6. Save and apply.
  7. Restart your server.
