To join your Valheim server via Steam Server List:
- Open Steam and in the top left there is a button called "View", click on it to open a menu.
- Click on the Servers option.
- Now click on the favourites tab at the top of the window that opened.
- At the bottom of the window you will see a button that says add a server, click it.
- Paste in the Query IP listed on the control panel (the one that ends in a 6, e.g. 27016).
- Click find games at this address.
- It should find your server, then just click the add this address to favourites button.
- Click refresh once or twice if the server shows an IP instead of it's name in the window.
- You can now click on the server then click connect.
- If you get "not running any game server", click refresh twice and then connect. This is a Steam bug.
To join your Valheim server by direct-connect in-game:
- Open Valheim, then click on Start Game
- Create your character if you haven’t already, then click Start
- Click the Join Game tab
- At the bottom of the window, click on Join IP
- Enter the servers Internal/Connection (the one that ends in a 5, e.g. 27015) IP into the box that appears
- Click connect, enter the password, and you’re in!
To join your Valheim server by filtering in-game:
Note, if you're doing this method your server might never show up. In-game list is very broken! We recommend the Steam method above.
- Open Valheim, then click on Start Game
- Create your character if you haven’t already, then click Start
- Click the Join Game tab
- At the bottom of the window, click on Community
- Type your servers name into the filter box
- Click the refresh button
- It can take a number of seconds for the game to search all servers
- Once your server shows up you can click connect to join.
